Our Time Is in the Hands of God

Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season. Job 5:26

Most of Job’s friends’ sayings were unprofitable; however, there are a few we can draw spiritual help from. Eliphaz is speaking and tells Job in this verse that he will come to death at his appointed time. First, I want us to see that death is certain to all. Death has a 100 percent score on our human race.

The question is not if we will die, but how will we die. People die how they live. So many times people live an ungodly life and never produce any fruit of repentance; however, at death some compromising preacher will build them up to be a godly person. This is a shame on any preacher who does this. The Bible teaches us that the wages of sin is death.

Even the new birth does not change that. When a person gets saved, their flesh is still lost and must die. Unless Jesus comes for the church in the next 100 years, all of us that are alive now will see death. I am glad that the sting of death is gone for the Christian.

Secondly, I see that a Christian who is in God’s will will die right on time. There is a sin unto death for a Christian when God takes them out early. My desire is to die in full age whatever that number may be. An ear of corn comes to its harvest at precisely the right time. It goes through all of its seasons and then it dies in beauty and maturity. Then it is harvested.

Let that be our prayer, to come to our season of death in the time God wants for us.

Amen.
